You'll love Colorado. Especially our neck of the woods...
Here are some travel tips, if you're new to the area or are flyin' in to celebrate with us:

Be Healthy! - High Altitude Sickness

We Coloradoans live at high altitude - Denver is the mile high city, after all! It makes us pretty good at running on the beach when we go on vacation, and we like to keep in our arsenal for bragging rights when we go on backpacking trips. For people who live at sea level or lower altitudes and travel here, however, this can sometimes lead to High Altitude Sickness. This is caused by a lack of oxygen in the air, and your body adjusting to the lower levels.

Just be aware of it, and don't worry too much. It usually happens when you go up above 7,000 feet - in the mountains - and symptoms usually come around about 48 hours after you've arrived - you may feel nauseous, get a headache, or have trouble getting to sleep. The best way to curb this is by drinking a lot of water, and don't engage in highly strenuous activity when you first get here. Also, be wary of alcohol - it will hit you a lot harder up here than it does at lower altitude! For more info visit the American Heart Association.
